Tag 3 &4 NYC, Silber für die Kings of Kallstadt …

… und fast keine Zeit zu posten! Freitag, Begrüßung der deutschen Gruppen am City Hall Park. Bekommen die silberne Steuben Parade Münze verliehen! Silber für Kings of Kallstadt. Viele Zuschauer, Amerikaner wie Deutsche werden auf uns aufmerksam und finden uns toll. Danach treffen mit der deutsch-amerikanischen Produzentin Sabine Schenk, kurz und sehr interessant. Danch schnell ins Dirndl & Anzug geworfen und zur Steuben Paraden Gala. Ist etwas dunkel (zum filmen) und hatte eine lustige Musikmischung. Grüße von Manfred Geis an Erik Bettermann (Intendant der deutschen Welle) ausgerichtet, er hat sich gefreut und sendet Grüße zurück.


Guten Morgen, schnell zur SteubenParade. Riesig und viel größer als erwartet. So viele Gruppen aus den USA sind auf der Straße. Wahnsinn. Viel zu entdecken, gute Ideen für die Kallstadter. Favoriten Gruppen: Bronx Turner (Turnverein mit Turnhalle in der Bronx) und eine Gruppe des Harlem Oktoberfest. Harlem ist eh super! Franziska & Stefan „Seidel" (aus Kallstadt) mit Mann & Frau getroffen. Pause im Park, danach zum Oktoberfest. Lustige Fast-Münchnerinnen aus Wenigmünchen beim Picknick kennngelernt und den berühmten Eiskunstläufer „Schramme Norbert" gesprochen (ist der auch mit unseren Schramms verwandt?). Trump Tower besucht. Gute Nacht.

(English) Day 3 &4 NYC, Silver for  Kings of Kallstadt …

… and next to no time to write something for the blog! Friday, the greeting of the German groups at the city hall. We are presented with the silver Steuben Parade coin! Wow! Silver for Kings of Kallstadt!

There are lots of spectators, American and German. They all get to know us and like us! Afterwards, we meet the German/ American producer Sabine Schenk. It is a short meeting but very interesting. Then we change in Dirndl and Tux and are off to the Steuben Parade Gala evening. Said hi to Eric Betterman for Manfred Geis, he was very pleased and sends his regards.

Good morning, quickly off to Steuben Parade. Its huge, much bigger than we expected. So many groups from all over the US are on the street. Lots to discover, great Ideas for the Kallstadt kings.

Favourite groups: Bronx Turner ( sports group from the Bronx), and a group from Harlem Oktoberfest. Harlem's great anyway! Met Franziska & Stefan "Seidel" ( from Kallstadt) with their partners.

Short break in the park, then off to Oktoberfest. Met some funny Almost-Munich girls from Not-So -Munich at the picknick and had a little chat with the famous figure skater "Schramme Norbert" ( maybe he is related to our Schramms, too?).  Visited Trump Tower. Good night!

Tag 2 Nei Yorg (wie die Kallstadter sagen würden)

… FOX 5 Studios, unweit des Central Park, Morning Show, Interview mit Lars Halter dem Chairman der Steuben Parade und Denise Manukian der Steuben Parade Queen und wir mitten drin: Im Studio, der Garderobe, der Probe, der Aufzeichnung und überall Schuhplattler und Dirndl. Danach auf die Straße, Lars und Denise haben viel zu erzählen. Teffen mit Oliver Mahrdt vom German Film im Café, Neues erfahren und gute Tipps bekommen. Weiter zum Time Square beindruckt. Zurück nach Harlem und bei Sylvia, Queen of Soulfood, bei gutem Essen entspannt. Erfolgreicher Tag.

… at FOX 5 Studios, not far from Central Park, Morning Show, Interview with Lars Halter chairman of the Steuben Parade and Denise Manukian, Queen of the Steuben Parade and we're right in the middle of it all: at the studio, the changing room, the rehearsal, the show, and Schuhplattler and Dirndls wherever you look. Afterwards, we're out on the road, Lars and Denise have lots of stories to tell. Meeting with Oliver Mahrdt of German Film an a café,  trading news and getting insider tips. Off to Time Square, so impressive. Back to Harlem and relaxing at Sylvias, Queen of Soul Food, enjoying a great meal. What a day!

Tag 1 New York

… nach einen entspannten Flug sind wir in NYC gelandet. Nach einem kurzen Trip nach Down Town und ersten Aufnahmen, sind wir zu unserem großartigen Hotel nach Harlem und danach in das legendäre Apollo Theater. Die Show war der fantastic!  
(English) Day 1 New York ...after a relaxing flight we have finally landed in NYC. After a short drive down town and shooting a couple of takes for the movie, we went to our wonderful hotel in Harlem and shortly after to the legendars Apollo Theatre! The show was fantastic!  

 

Noche eine Woche bis New York

… und noch viel zu tun. Wir haben mittlerweile eine mehrseitige To do-Liste. Man will ja nichts verpassen oder gar unvorbereitet sein. Und auf meinem Wunschzettel steht ganz oben: den Pfälzerwaldverein mit der Ortsguppe New York finden, dann Donnerstags bei der Pressekonferenz mit Steubenparade Queen sprechen, beim Galadinner im Dirndl unbedingt hochmotivierte Sponsoren antreffen, mit Donalds Cousin im Trump Tower herum schlendern und dann noch ein paar größenwahnsinnige Pläne für einen kleinen Wurstmarkt im Central Park schmieden.
Wir werden sehen, was die Woche mit sich bringt.

Und zum Thema Kallstadt: so sah es vor ca. 1 Woche am Garten meiner Eltern aus. Not bad ...

(English) Another week to go until New York...

… and so much left to do.  Our To-Do list is now several pages long. We don't want to miss a thing or be unprepared. On top of my wish list: finding the Palatine Society and meeting up with their the local New York group, talk to the Steubenparade Queen on thursday, meet highly motivated sponsors at the Gala dinner wearing my Dirndl, take a stroll round Trump Tower with Donalds cousin and make a couple of crazy, megalomaniac plans about organizing a palatine sausage market in the middle of Central Park! We shall see what the week brings!

Ja, wir sind in der Presse! Am Samstag war es soweit, da hat Georg Tempel über unser Vorhaben einen Bericht in der „Rheinpfalz“ verfasst. Toll & vielen Dank! Ein kleiner Fehler hat sich allerdings eingeschlichen: Der Großvater von Donald Trump hieß nie „Drumpf“ sondern schon immer Trump und musste so nie, auch nicht in den USA, seinen Namen ändern.

We've made it to the newspapers! Saturday was the big day, Georg Tempel wrote a piece on our project in the local newspaper "Rheinpfalz" ( Rhine/Palatine). Super! thanks a bunch! There is just one little mistake in the article: Donald Trumps Granddad was never called "Drumpf" and never had to change his name when going to the US.

 

In letzter Minute …

… nur noch zwei Stunden, dann geht die Saumagenkerwe in Kallstadt los! Um 18.00 Uhr findet das Kerweeröffnungskonzert in der St. Salvator Kirche statt. Danach geht es um 19.30 Uhr mit der offiziellen Eröffnung auf dem Platz der 100 Weine mit Inthronisierung der neuen Kallstadter Weinprinzessin Dominique I. durch die Pfälzische Weinprinzessin Katharina Sauer sowie die scheidende Prinzessin Sarah I und Bürgermeister Günter Person weiter. Von 19.30 bis 23.00 Uhr spielen  „De Ähnd & de Onner“ im Weindorf. Weitere Infos und Programmpunkte auf dem Flyer neben an. Viel Spaß!

Another two hours before the Saumagenkerwe in Kallstadt starts! At 6 pm the opening concert of the festival is going to start at the St Salvator church. At 7:30 there will be the official opening at the square of hundred wines with the enthronement of the new wine princess Dominique I, who will be invested by the Palatine wine princess Katharina Sauer and  former Kallstadt wine princess Sarah I and the Mayor Günther Person. And there will be music, too: From 7:30 until 11:00pm the band „De Ähnd & de Onner“ will play in the wine village. For the rest of the program and additional information, see flyer above. Have fun!

Der 60. Geburtstag …

Am Freitag feierte Thomas Weick unser kulinarischer Sponsor seinen 60. Geburtstag. Unmengen von Menschen haben viel getrunken, gegessen, gefeiert und vorallem auch getanzt. Und von uns gab es die erste offizielle Kings of Kallstadt Sponsorenurkunde in einem Bilderrahmen, der noch älter sein könnte als Thomas Weick selbst. Sogar robo-dancende Kallstadter gab es, vermutlich haben sie sich schon auf New York eingegroovt …

(English) The 60th birthday

Last  friday, Thomas Weick , our culinary sponsor celebrated his 60 th birthday. Lots of people were there, there was food, drinking, partying and lots of dancing. We gave out the first official Kings of Kallstadt sponsor certificate in a picture frame which might be even older than Thomas Weick himself. There were even Kallstadt people doing the  robo-dance, probably they were already practicing the moves and the groove for New York.

Fundraiser jeden Alters für Kings of Kallstadt gesucht!

Wir suchen für unser charmantes Dokumentarfilmprojekt „Kings of Kallstadt“ einen engagierten Mittelbeschaffer/in (Fundraiser/in). Unser optimistisches Projekt braucht dringend noch einige außergewöhnliche Geldquellen außerhalb der normalen Filmfinanzierung. Daher suchen wir einen zuverlässigen, unheimlich netten und kontaktfreudigen Menschen der Spaß daran hat diese Quellen zu erschließen. Das Alter spielt für uns keine Rolle, es geht nur um Begeisterung für das Projekt, Zuverlässigkeit und die Freude am Sponsorenfinden. Egal ob im Ruhestand mit abgeschlossener BWL- / Marketing-Karriere oder im Studium mit großen Zukunftsplänen.
Prima wären Erfahrungen im Bereich Fundraising, Crowdfunding-Plattformen (D/E), Medienarbeit und auch direkter Sponsoren Kontakt.
Da es ein Independent-Projekt ist und wir noch keine ausreichende Finanzierung haben, können wir leider noch kein Honorar zahlen, aber eine prozentuale Beteiligung können wir anbieten. Wir freuen uns sehr über eine Rückmeldung.

For our charming documantary "Kings of Kallstadt" we are looking for a motivated fundraiser. Our optimistic project is still in need of a few monetary sources independent of the usual movie sponsoring.  That's why we are looking for a reliable, really nice and outgoing person who would enjoy uncovering these new sources for us. Age doesn't matter, we are looking for enthusiasm for our project, reliability and someone who enjoys finding us new sponsors. So no matter if you are already retired after a career in business or marketing or if you are still in Uni but have great plans for the future, just contact us!

It would be fantastic if you already had experience in fundraising, crowdfunding portals ( G/E) media work or direct contact with sponsors.  As it is an independent movie we're making here, we can't really pay you at the moment, but can offer a percentage of the gains. We are looking forward to hearing from you!

Mal sehen ob wir sie persönlich treffen und wen noch, vielleicht auch ein paar Kallstadter (ehemalige & aktuelle), wir gehen mal davon aus;)

...Our plane leaves on Sept, 14 th! On the left, you see the official Steubenparade-Poster ( klick it to get to the official website). This week, word got out who is going to be official "Grand Marshall" of this years Steuben Parade: Samantha Brown, anchor of  theTravel Channel, Ilse Aigner, our german Minister for nutrition, rurality and consumer protection, Eric Betterman, channel director of radio Deutsche Welle and Peter Ammon, our german ambassador in the US. We'lll see, if we're lucky we will meet them all in person. We are also excited to find out who else will be there, maybe also some people from Kallstadt ( former and current residents), well we're pretty sure there will be some of them around ;)

 

August Resümee

Jetzt war ich die letzten Wochen ein bisschen verschollen, aber nur blogmäßig. Ansonsten bin ich / sind wir fleißig am planen, denken und machen. Ich glaube es wäre mal wieder Zeit für einen kleinen Zwischenstand, was momentan so passiert:

• Im Juli waren wir mit Kings of Kallstadt nominiert zum Dokuwettbewerb des bayrischen Rundfunks. 
• Letzte Woche hatten wir einen sehr netten Termin beim SWR. Hier kann man gespannt bleiben was sich noch entwickelt.
• Immer noch kein Sender im Boot und daher werden Sponsoren immer nötiger, damit wir im Notfall Plan B auspacken können und zumindest alle unumgänglichen Kosten zu decken.
• Die Kickstarter Lösung steht auch noch aus. Ich würde unheimlich gerne die Crowdfunding Plattform Kickstarter mit Kings of Kallstadt bereichern, das birgt aber ein paar Tücken wenn man nicht gerade Amerikaner ist … Lösung und Alternativen finden steht an. Sparschweinchen in der Pfalz verteilen?
• Die großartige Stiftung Rheinland Pfalz für Kultur machte es uns möglich diese Woche Kistenweise Technik zu bestellen, damit wir unheimlich flexibel drehen können. Toll, toll wenn nicht nur theoretisiert wird, sondern pragmatisch unterstützt. Das gibt es nicht so oft.
• in ca. 4 Wochen fliegen wir nach New York zur Steubenparade, dieses mal nur zu dritt. Wir sollen dort für den Kallstadtern u.a. rausfinden wo es einen deutschen Metzger in NYgibt, denn irgendeiner muß ja den Saumagen machen …
• die Dirndlfrage ist noch nicht gelöst. Da ich wohl für eine Galaparty der Steubenparade im Abendkleid oder in Tracht kommen muß (wie Thomas ständig behauptet) muß ich mir noch so ein Fummel zulegen bzw. ausleihen.  Ein Dirndl wäre vielleicht lustig … Ich mit Dirndl bei Donald …
• Apropos Donald: wir werden den außerordentlich netten Cousin von Donald Trump in New York treffen und er wird unser Trump-Family-Guide sein. 
• Unsere Kallstadter Weinprinzessin Sarah dankt im September ab, was wir natürlich nicht begrüßen. Das entsprechende Stellungsnahme-Interview steht noch aus ;)
• Ach ja und Kerwe ist auch bald in Kallstadt. Aber das werden wir bestimmt noch separat bloggen.

Ich hoffe hiermit meine Abwesenheit ein bisschen aufgeholt zu haben und wünsche eine erheiternde Woche.

(English) August summary

I seemed to have disappeared for the last couple of weeks, but that was only blogwise. All in all I / we are busy making plans, thinking and doing things for the movie. So maybe it's time for a little update, so you all know what is happening at the moment:

•       In July, we were nominated  for the documentary award of the Bayrische Rundfunk* with Kings of Kallstadt.

•       Last week we had a very nice meeting at the SWR * . We are very excited what may come of it in the future.

•       Still no broadcasting station, so our quest for sponsors is becoming more and more urgent so that we can rely on plan B if necessary to cover the most inevitable costs.

•       We are still looking for a solution for Kickstarter. I would really love to add Kings of Kallstadt to the crowdfunding portal Kickstarter, which proves a tiny bit difficult when you're not an American citizen. So what we have to do is find solutions and alternatives. Maybe we could hand out piggy banks in the Palatine?

•       The wonderful Rheinland Pfalz foundation for culture made it possible to order lots of tekkie equipment , so we are really flexible while shooting. Its so great when you finally get some real support instead of endless theoretical discussion. That doesn't happen all that often.

•       in about 4 weeks we go to New York to the Steubenparade, this time just the three of us. We have errands from Kallstadt to run, such as finding out where to find a Geman butcher shop in NY, because someone there just has to make a proper Saumagen...

•       The Dirndl question is still undecided. As Thomas keeps claíming, I have to wear either a traditional outfit or an evening gown for the Steubenparade gala party. So I have to get or borrow an outfit somewhere. A Dirndl might be fun - me wearing a Dirndl at Donalds...

•       Oh, about Donald: we will meet Donald Trumps exceptionately nice cousin in New York. He will be our Trump family-guide.

•       Our Kallstadt Wine Princess Sarah is ending her reign in September. Of course, we are not amused.  Her official statement is still to be expected ;)

•       Oh, and soon there will be a funfair in Kallstadt. But I'm sure we'll cover that separately in the blog.

•       I hope that I have made up for my absence a little bit and wish you all a pleasant week.

Ein Abend mit der Stiftung

Vorletzte Woche hatten wir einen lange herbeigesehnten und wichtigen Termin mit dem Herren der Stiftung Rheinland Pfalz für Kultur und dem allseits beliebten Landtagsabgeordneten Manfred Geis. Wir haben uns bei unserer Haupt-Team-Location den Weicks getroffen und bei Wein und deftigen Pfälzer Brotzeitplatten geplaudert und gegrübelt wie man das Projekt nun am besten unterstützen kann und am Ende eine fantastische Lösung gefunden, über die wir uns sehr freuen.

Es war schon dunkel in Kallstadt als wir die Winzergenossenschaft zufrieden verließen.

An evening with the foundation (english)
Two weeks ago we had our long expected and very important meeting with the gentlemen from the Rheinland Pfalz foundation for culture, together with our well liked MP Manfred Geis. We met up at our teams " main quarter", at the Weick's and were pondering over wine and real palatine sausage plates with homemade bread how to support the project in the best way and came up with a fantastic solution we are all very happy with.

Back again

„Filmemachen ist kein Mädchensport“ habe ich den Vogel mal sagen hören. Und das ist auch fast alles was man zu einer Nominierung die nicht im sofortigen Sieg geendet ist sagen kann.
Und irgendwie muß man ja fast Verständnis für die Wahl-Münchner aufbringen, die wohl noch nie in ihrem Leben ein Fuß an die Weinstraße gesetzt haben. Aber immerhin „lieben“ die Bayern mein Konzept, auch wenn sie nicht glauben dass die Kallstadter nur annähernd so cool und humorvoll sind wie ich behaupte.
Aber wir können ja eine Wette mit den Bayern eingehen, dass die Kallstadter mit ihrem Charme noch die Welt erobern werden, ganz wie die US-Verwandschaft. Das liegt uns im Blut!

Back Again (english)"Moviemaking is not a girls sport", thats something I heard german actor and director Jochen Vogel once say. And that's really all that you can say about a nomination that didn't end with a straight victory. And somehow one has to understand the Munich people who never set foot on the Palatine "Weinstraße". Anyway, the Bavarians said they simply love my concept , they just couldn't believe that the Kallstadt people are as cool and witty as I say.
Hey, let's make a bet with the Bavarians that the people from Kallstadt will conquer the world with their charme, just as our famous US relatives. It's in our blood!

Daumen drücken! Heute fahren wir nach München …

und sind schon mächtig aufgeregt, gespannt und sehr gut vorbereitet. Wir berichten, sobald wir ein Ergebnis haben, spätestens am Montag.

Das TVK-Jubiläum in Kallstadt

Jetzt noch ganz flink die neusten Bilder vom Wochenende in Kallstadt. Wir waren dabei als der Turnverein jetzt seine 125-Jahr-Feier hatte. War toll, obwohl sich das Wetter überhaupt nicht entscheiden konnte. Es hat gefühlte 23mal geregnet, aber davon hat sich keiner verwirren lassen.

Bin müde und mein Rechner hat nur noch 4 Minuten Akku. Also das nächste mal am besten selbst vorbeikommen, die Kallstadter freuen sich. Aber vorab muss das genügen:

The TKV *- Anniversary in Kallstadt (english)

A quick update: here come the latest pictures from the weekend in Kallstadt. We were there to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the local sports club. It was great, although the weather couldn't make up its mind at all. It was raining a lot, at least 23 times, or at least that's what it felt like, but that did not dampen our spirits in the least. I am tired now and my laptop has only four minutes of battery left. So next time come and see for yourself, the Kallstadt people will be delighted. But for now let the pictures speak for themselves:

Sonntag 6:50 : Um diese unsägliche Uhrzeit startete der Weckruf-Umzug des Turnvereins durch ganz Kallstadt.
Sunday, 6:50 am: At this impossibly early hour, the Turnverein starts the wake up call parade through Kallstadt.

Sonntag 11:30 : Unglaublicherweise haben die Jungs (Thomas und Mario) ihr Versprechen wahr gemacht und haben sich in alte Sporthosen meines Vaters geworfen und sind beim Beachvolleyball angetreten. Und was ein Wunder die untrainierten Filmer haben sogar mit der Mannschaft „WeiBu“ im Endspiel gewonnen! Jetzt sind sie Platz 3 soweit ich weiß. Die Siegerehrung haben wir leider nicht mehr miterlebt.

Sunday 11:30 am: I can't believe it. The boys ( Thomas and Mario) made good on their promise, put on some of my fathers old sport pants and entered the beach volleyball competition. And, miraculously the untrained movie makers have won the final match with the Team "WeiBu"! Now they are third, as far as I know. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay for the award ceremony.

New York, mein Smartphone und seine Grenzen ...

... nur um es gleich vorweg zu nehmen, wir brauchen jetzt Geld. Geld für die Technik, für den Dreh, für unseren Film, denn mit dem Smartphone filmen bringt nichts, wie ich hier in diesem Film demonstriere;)

New York war super und nach 10 Jahren (Sommer 2001 war ich das letzte Mal dort) hat sich sehr viel verändert, nicht zuletzt durch 9/11.

Ich hab die Stadt fast nicht wiedererkannt, vieles neu, vieles anders und so viele Menschen auf der Straße! Das hatte ich vollkommen verdrängt oder es kam mir jetzt nur so vor, weil ich mit zwei kleinen Kindern unterwegs war und immer Angst hatte diese aus den Augen und im Big Apple zu verlieren. Wir waren auf dem Empire State Building, dem Central Park, meine Tochter (3 Jahre) mit Oma im Guggenheim Museum, am Time Square, sind mit dem Schiff an der Miss Liberty vorbei gefahren und haben in Brooklyn geschlafen.

Donald haben wir nicht persönlich getroffen, aber wir waren in seinem Tower und haben Simones Grüße übermittelt, dort nen Kaffee getrunken und seinen Shop besucht, aber nichts Passendes gefunden. Was auch? Golfbälle, Krawattennadeln und goldene Tassen alle mit Trump-Wappen? Oder doch ein Buch mit Tipps zum Erfolgreichsein? Nee, das klappt bei uns auch ohne Buch!

New York was amazing and lots of things have changed since my last visit to New York in the summer of 2001, some of which can surely be attributed to 9/11.
I almost didn't recognize the city, so much was new,so much was different and so many people on the streets! That is something I totally ousted or maybe things seemed different now because I was travelling with my two little kinds and was anxious about losing sight of them in the Big Apple. We were on top of the Empire State Building, visited Central Park, my 3 year old daughter went to the Guggenheim museum with her Granny, we saw Time Square, went past Miss Liberty on a boat and spent the night in Brooklyn.
We havent met Donald in person but made it to his tower to pass on Simones regards, had coffe there, visited his souvenir shop but didn't find anything to buy. What was there for us to buy? Golf balls, cravatte clips and gilded teacups all with Trumps signet? Or a book on how to get rich and famous? No thanks,  I'm sure we will succeed without a guidebook!

Der Wochenendausflug-Tipp zu den Beachvolleyball-Prinzessinnen

Der Turnverein Kallstadt feiert am Wochenende auf dem legendären Sportplatz (ehemals Steinbruch) sein 125-jähriges Jubiläum. Als kleiner Kings of Kallstadt Exkurs: Donald Trumps Opa ist ca. 5 Jahre vor der Gründung der Trunvereins ausgewandert, d.h. fast wäre Donalds Opa und ich noch im gleichen Verein gewesen. Das wäre äußerst wahrscheinlich, da in Kallstadt fast jeder im Turnverein Mitglied ist.

Aber nun zum Jubiläum. Es sind Turniere für jedermann geboten von Leichtathletik über Boule bis hin zu Beachvolleyball. Ihr könnt Euch per Mail (siehe Flyer unten) anmelden oder einfach nur zum Schorle trinken und Winzersteak essen kommen. Wir sind auch da und beobachten das Ganze.
Ich sag nur eins: Es wird eine Weinprinzessinnen-Beachvolleyball-Mannschaft geben. Not bad …

Our weekend trip to the Beachvolleball Princesses (english)
The Turnverein (sports club) Kallstadt is celebrating its 125 anniversary at the legendary sports grounds (which used to be a quarry). Let me digress with a little "kings of Kallstadt" story: Donald Trumps Granddad emigrated about five years before the foundation of the sports club, which means Donalds Gramps and me missed being members of the same sports club only by a whisker. Being sports club mates would have been very likely, as in Kallstadt almost everybody is a member of the sports club. 
But now for the anniversary: There are competitions for everyone, ranging from athletics to boule and beach volleyball. You can register via E-mail ( see form below) or you can simply show up to have a couple of Weinschorle and  eat a nice winegrowers steak. We will be there and watch the whole thing.  Now for a little spoiler: there will be a beach volleyball team of Wine Princesses. Not bad at all!

Wir sind im Finale – dufte!

Eure positiver Energietransfer hat funktioniert, die Bayern sind gut gestimmt und laden die Pfälzer ein!
Heute 15:00 Uhr  kam die Benachrichtigung per Mail, dass wir einer der 4 Finalisten des Kino-Dokumentarfilm-Wettbewerbs des bayrischen Rundfunks sind und zum Gespräch eingeladen werden. Das heißt wir sind in 10 Tagen in München zur Präsentation. Daumen drücken und wieder Energie nach München schicken!

Aint it swell- we've made it to the finale! (english)

Your positive energy transfer has worked, the Bavarians are in a good mood and invite the Palatians. Today at 3 pm we received the e mail notification that we are one of four finalists of the documentary competition of the bavarian broadcasting station, the Bayerische Rundfunk. We have been invited to a personal talk. That means in ten days we are in Munich to present our movie. That means keep your fingers crossed and send positive energy to Munich again!

So einen erfreulichen Button könnte doch jeder erwerben, der unseren Film unterstützen möchte, oder? Dann bräuchten wir nur noch offizielle „Kings of Kallstadt“ - Button-Verkaussstellen in Restaurants, I-Punkten, Winzergenossenschaften, Shops in Mannheim oder Pfälzer-Weinhandlungen in Berlin … Und dann, ganz im Sinne meines Films, könnte man mit viel Gemeinschaftssinn und Engagement der Buttonkäufer und somit Filmsupporter schonmal meinen Flug Richtung Donald finanzieren. Das wäre doch dufte.

Pfalz Fundraise Buttons (english)

Time is running, soon we will have to face the inevitable consts of filming. So Mrs Wendel came up with a tiny, modest idea for fundraising: the Buttons. Everyone who wants to support our film could buy one of those, couldnt' they? Then all we would need are official sales points for the "Kings of Kallstadt" buttons in Restaurants, tourist informations, winegrowers cooperatives, shops in Mannheim or Pfalz Wineshops in Berlin.... and then, in the true spirit of my movie, with lots of commuinity spirit and commitment, those people who buy buttons and thus support the movie could help finance my flight to Donald. That would be swell, wouldn't it?

Heute hatte ich schon meine dritte Englischstunde mit Thomas Iredale meinem humorvollen, engagierten und britischen Nativespeaker-Lehrer, um meine englische Plauderfähigkeit für Donald und die Heinzes zu optimieren. Falls also jemand auch einen Englischlehrer in der Umgebung von Heidelberg sucht, ihn kann ich wärmstens empfehlen.
Irgendwie könnte ich mich daran gewöhnen dauerhaft unterrichtet zu werden, da lernt mal wieder so einiges dazu …

Today was my third english lesson with Thomas Iredale, my witty, dedicated and very British English teacher. He  helps me to improve my small talk skills for Donald and the Heinz family. So if anyone is looking for an English teacher near Heidelberg, I can highly recommend him. Actually, I really enjoy my lessons. I could get uset to this, there is so much to learn!
